COAS Meets U.S. Think Tanks and Media, says Pakistan “eschews Bloc Politics”

Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, engaged in a candid discourse with members of prominent US think tanks and media. During the interaction, COAS Munir said that Pakistan “eschews Bloc Politics and believes in maintaining balanced relationships with all friendly countries”.

Highlighting Pakistan’s geopolitical and geoeconomic importance, COAS Munir expressed the country’s ambition to become a hub of connectivity and a gateway to Central Asia and beyond. He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to eschew Bloc Politics and maintain balanced relationships with all friendly nations.

COAS Munir conveyed Pakistan’s desire to broaden bilateral engagement with the U.S through a long-term, multi-domain partnership. He shared that his interactions with U.S. political and military leadership during the visit were positive and forward-looking, aiming to strengthen the relationship further.

He further articulated Pakistan’s perspective on regional security, emphasizing the country’s role in countering transnational terrorism and the significance of maintaining strategic stability in South Asia.

Emphasizing Pakistan’s steadfast commitment against transnational terrorism, COAS Munir highlighted the country’s unparalleled contributions and sacrifices in the enduring fight against terrorism. He affirmed Pakistan’s determination to continue this fight until a logical end, aligning with the aspirations of the Pakistani people.

Addressing the Kashmir issue, COAS Munir stressed the need for its resolution in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the UNSC resolutions. He asserted that Kashmir is an internationally accepted dispute, and no unilateral action can alter its nature against the wishes of the millions residing in the region.

COAS Munir also called for immediate measures to end suffering in Gaza, urging humanitarian assistance and the implementation of a two-state solution for enduring peace in the region. Upon arrival, he was received by the Ambassador of Pakistan to the U.S.
