Washington: A recent Harvard CAPS/Harris poll survey has revealed that 51% of 18–24-year-olds in the U.S. support Hamas and the Palestinians.
According to the survey, the youth believe that the resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict lies in ending the settler-colonialist state of Israel, and the land of Palestinians should be returned to Hamas and the Palestinians.
32% of the surveyed youth expressed confidence in a two-state solution, while 17% suggested encouraging Arab countries to absorb the Palestinian population.
When asked about their support for Hamas and Israel, half of the youth indicated their support for Hamas, while the rest, especially those aged 65 and above (96%), showed a preference for supporting Israel.
The majority of American youth (60%) believe that the Hamas attack was justified because Israel is engaged in ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians.
