Sindh Police is So Corrupt that they Demand Money Every 50 Kilometers, says Sohaib Maqsood

Islamabad: Four Sindh Police members were arrested on Tuesday after confirmation of their involvement in corruption, prompted by complaints from Pakistani cricketers Sohaib Maqsood and Aamer Yamin on social media.

The two athletes, Sohaib Maqsood and Aamer Yamin who were representing the Multan region in the National T20 Cup, accused the Sakrand police station officers of extortion during their journey to Multan for the National T20 Cup. Sohaib Maqsood further wrote, ‘”if you give them money then they will stop you again after 50 km and ask for money again corruption at it’s peak in sindh police”

“We told them that we are international cricketers travelling to multan after our match in Karachi they still took 8000 thousand rupees and then let us go it will”, Sohaib Maqsood revealed.

According to the spokesperson, IG Sindh ordered an immediate investigation and called for strict action against the officers involved in the incident.

Following this case was registered against officers for accepting funds from the cricketers. The Sakrand police station’s SHO and head inspector were suspended for negligence, and legal action is being pursued with the registration of a formal FIR
