Karachi: In a tragic incident, a gas cylinder explosion occurred in Karachi’s New Challi area, resulting in two deaths and injuries to 8 others. The explosion happened on Tuesday in a shop within the busy generator market, causing a severe fire and significant damage to the vicinity.
According to local reports, the blast was powerful enough to scatter goods and debris onto the streets, creating a scene of chaos and destruction. Rescue teams responded promptly, evacuating the 8 injured to nearby hospitals for emergency medical care.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion and assessing the safety measures in place to prevent future incidents in the densely populated commercial areas of Karachi.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers associated with the improper handling of gas cylinders, recalling similar events in different areas of Karachi, including the recent incident in Macha colony, where a cylinder blast led to three deaths and 17 injuries following the collapse of a two-story building.
