Research: Dangerous Consequences of Sleeping For Less Than 5 Hours

London: Medical experts have obtained results from a study indicating that if the duration of sleep is less than 5 hours, it poses a dangerous risk to human life.

Scientists suggest that individuals who sleep less than 5 hours at night are at an increased risk of depression and mental stress. Researchers emphasize that everyone should be aware that poor mental health affects a person’s sleep. However, the recent findings from an experiment involving over 7,000 participants reveal that poor or insufficient sleep can actually contribute to a dangerous increase in depression.

Experts affiliated with the University College London have revealed based on data that individuals with a sleep duration of less than 5 hours are at an increased risk of suffering from the dangers of compromised mental health. To explain in an interesting way, the researchers provide an analogy that the relationship between insufficient sleep and depression (mental stress) is much like the connection between eggs and chickens. Meaning, that these two come together, but which comes first is not known.
