New Record Established in Stock Market, 100 Index Crosses 56,000 Points

Karachi: Creating a new record in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the KSE 100 Index has crossed the mark of 56,000 points for the first time in its history.

On Monday, the first day of the business week, Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a significant surge. During the trading session, the 100 Index recorded an increase of 618 points.

Trading at a level of over 56,000 points for the first time in the country’s history, the stock market has seen a rise of 736 points in the 100 Index.

In the meantime, the Pakistani rupee sustained losses for the 15th consecutive session against the US dollar, registering a 0.18% depreciation in the inter-bank market on Friday. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the domestic currency concluded at 287.55, marking a decline of Re0.52.
