San Francisco: The messaging platform and social media giant WhatsApp has hinted at introducing advertisements in the Status feature.
According to online tech news sources, WhatsApp mentioned that ads will not be shown directly to the users in their chat boxes. However, there’s a possibility that they might be introduced in other sections, potentially within the status section.
It’s noteworthy that WhatsApp has always claimed complete user privacy. Nonetheless, rumors have repeatedly surfaced about the platform considering the introduction of advertisements.
The company has consistently denied many of these rumors. However, in an interview with a media agency, the company’s head mentioned that some ads might be introduced in sections outside the chat boxes within WhatsApp.
