Mushaal Mullick Urges OIC Leaders to Take Action for Yasin Malik’s Release

Jeddah: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, called upon the leadership of OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) to play a practical role in the release of her husband, Yasin Malik, from Indian custody, and to save all oppressed Kashmiris and Palestinians, who were facing gender-based violence including sexual harassment, rape as a weapon of war, arbitrary detentions, molestations and trafficking of women.

Speaking at an International Conference on Women in Islam organized by OIC and KSA Foreign Affairs Ministry, Mushaal said that Pakistan has always remained steadfast in supporting the legitimate struggle for the freedom of the Kashmiris and in demanding an immediate resolution of Kashmir dispute as per the UN resolutions.

Mushaal Hussein Mullick mentioned that her family is at the forefront of the legitimate self-determination rights of the people of Kashmir against Indian occupation. India has imprisoned their family with high-profile charges, stating “I am also a peaceful freedom fighter, our family is at the forefront of Kashmir’s struggle for the right to self-determination against Indian Occupation.” However, she noted: “India has gifted our family with enormous titles, I am practically a half widow, my husband locked in a death cell of Tihar jail is a half-father and our 11-year-old daughter is a half orphan. We have not seen him for 9 years and spent only 60 days in a marriage of 14 and a half years.”

Mushaal pointed out that India has left them homeless, and they witnessed various incidents of sexual harassment, torture, arrests, attacks, and threats, even her daughter was not spared, she was sexually harassed, body searched, and pampers torn when she visited her jailed father in central jail at the tender age of two.

Furthermore, she said that she wanted to raise a  question to the world about what more price the Kashmiri people have to pay for being held hostage, locked up, and kidnapped by a tyrant who was not willing to accept any ransom except for genocide through body bags and meticulously manipulating demographic changes in blatant violations of Geneva Conventions, international law and UNSCRs. “I, as the daughter of the Muslim Ummah ask, where is my husband? Where is the father of Raziya Sultana? Where is Mohammad Yasin Malik,” she asked, adding that a child deprived of hugging her father for nine years, whose only crime was leading the struggle for Freedom of Kashmiris.

Mushaal said that the world should warned, as RSS-inspired Narendra Modi wanted to hang Yasin to silence one of the biggest and powerful voices of freedom which is a basic right of every human being. “Yasin Malik is innocent along with thousands of other Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and political Prisoners locked up in countless jails of India, if anything happens to him, Modi will be solely responsible for this murder,” she warned. Mushaal alarmed the world and demanded to take notice of the situation.

Moreover, she mentioned that Pakistan also strongly condemns Israeli crimes against humanity against innocent children, women, and men of Palestine. Mushaal demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an end to the blockade of Gaza, and full access to international Humanitarian organizations to send essentials like medicine, food, and water supplies to the beleaguered people of Gaza.
