Karachi: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested the mastermind of renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri’s murder. The suspect, Qasim Rasheed, also known as Ganja, has connections to the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi group.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the suspect Qasim Rasheed, affiliated with the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi group, was apprehended in the Patel Para area of Karachi. He was responsible for orchestrating the killings of Amjad Sabri, four Rangers personnel, two army officials, and four Shia individuals through hitmen Asim Capri and Ishaq Bobby.
The accused, Qasim Rashid, had been imprisoned in cases related to terrorism of a severe nature, including the MPA Raza Haider case. He was recently released from prison and was actively reviving his network with associates. His associates included Waseem Barodi, Abdullah, Danish, Hafiz Akhlaq, Parvez, Qari Inayat, and Abdullah Ilyas Taimoori.
The spokesperson disclosed that the arrested terrorist, Qasim Rashid, had been operating his network from within the prison. He has confessed to other high-profile murders, including the killing of Assistant Superintendent Jail Pir Masood and Deputy Superintendent Abdul Razzaq Abbasi. Hand grenades, pistols, and narcotics were recovered from the suspect. Cases have been registered against him, and investigations have commenced.
