Gaza: Israel is preparing for a ground invasion of Gaza; however, such an invasion would pose a significant threat to Israel.
According to media reports, in the event of a ground invasion, Israeli forces would have to confront over 70,000 Hamas resistance forces. Israel has assembled thousands of troops along the border of the Gaza Strip in preparation for a potential ground offensive. However, once these forces enter Gaza, they will have to engage with Hamas in densely populated urban areas.
Hamas possesses underground tunnels, some of which are several kilometers long, allowing them to move equipment and personnel discreetly from one location to another.
Moreover, Israeli Major General Yitzhak Brik has warned Benjamin Netanyahu against a ground invasion of Gaza. According to reports, Major General Yitzhak Brik informed Netanyahu that the Israeli military was not prepared for an assault and advised against a ground operation in Gaza. The report mentions that General Brik, who previously served as the head of the complaints department in the occupying forces, told Netanyahu that the forces around the Gaza Strip had not received proper training for years.
It is worth noting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had declared his intent to destroy Hamas after the attacks on October 7.
