Beijing: In the wake of recent escalations in the Israel-Palestine conflict, China deployed six naval warships to the Middle East last week.
These warships include the Type 052D guided-missile destroyer, the frigate Jingzhou, and the supply ship Qiandaohu. According to Chinese reports, two additional Chinese naval vessels have arrived in the Gulf region as replacements.
After conducting joint exercises with the Royal Navy of Oman, the Chinese task force reportedly headed towards an undisclosed location. Concerns are rising as tensions between Israel and Hamas have been increasing in the Middle East.
Israel has recently engaged in intense artillery exchanges with Hezbollah inside southern Lebanon, and there have been skirmishes between Hezbollah and the Israeli Defense Forces. Meanwhile, the United States has activated its missile defense system throughout the entire Middle East, installed additional missile defenses, and placed troops on alert.
