Rice Prices Significantly Decrease Due to Increased Cultivation

Karachi: Inflation has caused the prices of life’s essentials to rise across the country. However, following a decrease in the value of the dollar, inflation has finally started to go down.

This year, due to increased rice cultivation, there has been a decrease in rice prices. Exporters have set a target of 3 billion rupees for rice exports this year.

There has been a noticeable decrease in rice prices, with rice becoming up to 25% cheaper.

According to details, the price of Irri-6 rice has decreased by 25 rupees, making it now available at 125 rupees per kilogram. Irri-9 rice, after a 30-rupee decrease, is now available at 190 rupees. Similarly, the price of old 86 rice has gone down by 25 rupees, reducing it to 210 rupees per kilogram, and after a decrease of 46 rupees, new 86 rice is now priced at 161 rupees per kilogram.

In the market, Sella rice, which was previously priced at 335 rupees, is now selling for 260 rupees per kilogram, and Basmati rice, which was 370 rupees, is now available at 250 rupees per kilogram.

Wholesale grocers’ Vice Chairman Ismail noted that last year’s floods had severely affected the crop.
