Attock Jail Authorities Refused to Let Imran Khan Talk to His Sons

Attock Jail authorities have refused to allow telephonic conversation between former PM Imran Khan and his sons.

The Superintendent of Adiala Jail submitted a written response in the Special Court for Official Secrets Act in Islamabad regarding the contempt of court petition. In his response on the matter, the Adiala Jail Superintendent stated that jail laws do not permit telephonic conversations.

The AttockJail Superintendent has stated that according to the law, the accused under the Official Secrets Act are not entitled to the facility of a telephone. There has been no violation of the court’s orders regarding telephone usage.

Regarding this, Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain of the court sought explanations on September 18. The Jail Superintendent also submitted a letter from the Punjab Prisoners Foundation to the court. As per the Superintendent’s response, Prisoners Rules 1978 do not allow prisoners to make international phone calls.
