Tehran: A large water park in Iran has been closed due to non-compliance with hijab laws. According to local media reports, Iranian authorities have shut down a major recreational park in the northeastern city of Mashhad.
The police sealed the popular Mojhaye Khoroushan, known for its water games. The reason for its closure according to the authorities is that in this park, entry was allowed for women who were not wearing hijab
According to Arab media, the manager of the complex, Mohammad Babaei, stressed that the water park had consistently followed the law and had frequently reminded female visitors to adhere to the hijab rules. Despite these efforts, authorities cited “ignoring chastity and hijab” rules as the reason for the park’s closure. This park covers an area of 60,000 square meters and is famous as one of the world’s largest indoor water parks.
The director of the complex expressed concern that this closure could lead to the unemployment of about a thousand employees.
