Lahore: A senior Indian citizen was carried away by the flooding waters of the Sutlej River and ended up in Pakistan. According to details, on Tuesday, Pakistan Rangers Punjab with the help of police handed over the elderly individual to the Edhi Foundation in Kasur, who was found to have drifted from India to Pakistan in the flooding waters of the Sutlej River.
Due to his inability to speak or understand the local language, the elderly man has been unable to disclose his name and place of origin, making it difficult for authorities to identify him. His name, written in Hindi on the back of his hand, cannot be clearly read.
According to media reports, the man communicated through gestures that he is Hindu and a devotee of Hanuman (a Hindu deity). He mentioned that he drifted into the river from a far-off location. The Indian elderly citizen has appealed through gestures to be sent back to his country.
Images of the individual have been sent to the BSF (Border Security Force) India and the Pakistani Ministry of Interior to inform the Indian embassy and confirm his citizenship.
