Islamabad: Pakistan-China automobile brand is set to unveil its first electric car in Islamabad, aimed at marketing and raising public awareness about electric vehicles (EVs).
According to Gwadar Pro, Pak-China Huazi green energy Private Limited will showcase its first electric car in Islamabad next month. CEO of Huazi Green Energy Private Limited and Alfalah EV Motors, Khalid Mahmood, while talking to Gwadar Pro stated that electric cars can be easily charged at home. The assembly plant for these cars is expected to arrive from China in October, with manufacturing scheduled to begin in November 2023.
Mahmood also mentioned that the government has already approved the allocation of a plot in the Special Economic Zone of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the factory producing cars. They intend to start the pre-booking process for EVs in January 2024.
The project will be carried out in two phases. In the first phase, they will introduce 2-door and 4-door cars, targeting the average and lower-middle-class segments. These cars will come with a lithium battery with a warranty of 100,000 kilometers or 4 years.
The CEO informed Gwadar Pro that in the next year, in the second phase, the company plans to launch mini pickup trucks and two-wheelers, specifically designed for women. The 2-door electric car will travel up to 225 kilometers on a single charge, while the 4-door car can cover up to 350 kilometers on one charge.
The joint venture of Pakistan and China, with an investment of $5 million, aims to achieve 100% technology transfer in four to five years. According to the company, the manufacturing of products will be exported to many countries and regions, including Europe and Turkey.
