London: A British magazine has stated in its report that the ruling party of India, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), intends to capitalize on extremist sentiments in the state of Manipur to gain electoral advantages.
According to the report, more than 200 individuals have lost their lives in clashes between the Mewati and Kuki communities in Muzaffarnagar. Protesters allege that the Modi government is fanning communal tensions in Manipur so it can permanently deploy the army in the region to gain electoral advantages.
International media sources also reveal that the internet has been suspended in the entire state for the past two and a half months. It should be noted that apart from property destruction, a recent video surfaced from Manipur that was deeply disturbing, showing an incident involving women.
