The Islamic Forum for Australian Muslims (IFAM) is set to host its highly anticipated IFAM Convention 2023, a two-day family event that aims to bring the Muslim community together and promote Islamic values. IFAM, known for its dedication to fostering unity and well-being among Australian Muslims, provides various services and initiatives catering to the diverse needs of the community.
Scheduled for the long weekend of Saturday, September 30th, and Sunday, October 1st, the IFAM Convention 2023 promises a memorable experience filled with family fun, learning, and socializing. The prestigious Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Western Sydney will be the venue, offering ample parking for attendees’ convenience.
Renowned international and local speakers will grace the event, providing insights into Islamic teachings and engaging in direct interaction with attendees. Among them are:
- Dr. Yasir Qadhi: An American preacher and theologian, currently serving as the resident scholar of the East Plano Islamic Center in Plano, Texas. Qadhi has written books and lectured extensively on Islam and contemporary Muslim issues. He holds a doctorate in theology from Yale University.
- Imam Uzair Akbar: A distinguished Religious Scholar, Imam, and renowned Motivational Speaker. He holds the esteemed position of President of the Council of Imams in Queensland, Australia. Additionally, Imam Akbar serves as the Director of the Centre of Excellence and acts as the Head of the Shariah Board at Amanah Islamic Finance.
- Sheikh Muhammad Saad Nomani: A remarkable reciter of the Quran, celebrated for his exceptional talent in delivering recitations reminiscent of renowned qaris from around the world. Sheikh Saad Nomani obtained his M.A. in Islamic Studies from Darul Uloom Karachi, showcasing his dedication to acquiring a deep understanding of the subject matter.
- Sh. Yahya Ibrahim: A specialist in Spirituality and Qur’an, who has studied Tafsir, Fiqh, and Hadith with scholars from Hijaz and Egypt. He is sought after by Muslim and non-Muslim organizations, schools, and government entities. Sh. Yahya Ibrahim educates on various important topics such as domestic violence, misogyny, gender discrimination, child protection, disability, and mental health. He has been recognized for his work and was awarded the West Australian Multicultural Community Service Award for Individual Excellence.
In addition to the enlightening sessions, the IFAM Convention 2023 will feature a variety of stalls showcasing products and services. The convention will cater to the entire family, offering combined sessions as well as dedicated sessions for sisters, youth, and children. Exciting and engaging activities have been specially designed to ensure a delightful experience for kids.
