Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa name to be changed again

ISLAMABAD: The Parliament of Pakistan has decided to rename the Pakhtunkhwa province after the merger of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) in the province.

According to the reports after the merger 23 new seats will be included in the provincial assembly and also the number of National Assembly seats for FATA will be increased to 18.

Four seats for the woman and one for the non-Muslims included in the national assembly, after the merger in the elections of 2023 the provincial seats for FATA will be increased to 23 and seats of National Assembly will be increased to 18.

It should be noticed that from a long time the residents of FATA are asking for the annulment of FRC Laws, after a long discussion despite few all were agreed in the merger of FATA into KPK.

The KPK province was formerly called as NWFP but after the 18th amendment, it was named as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
