Chief Proctor Swat University suspended

PESHAWAR: Swat University administration has suspnended its Chief Proctor Hazrat Bilal for issuing a notification which barred the opposite gender students from sitting or walking together in or outside university premises, Saturday.

TheNewsTribe.com had earlier reported the notification issued by chief proctor Hazrat Bilal and it was detailed that all the students of University of Swat are informed here by that boys and girls are not allowed to sit or walk together within the campus or outside the campus.

According to the notification, if any student male or female found  sitting or walking together will be fined, the penalty ranging from 50 to 5000 will be imposed and an emergency meeting will be called with their parents.

It is pertinent to mention here that notification was issued without consulting  the issue with Vice chancellor, however chief proctor was suspended on issuing notification without the permission of University administration, TheNewsTribe.com has learnt from Dawn.

According to spokesperson University of Swat Aftab has said in a statement that chief proctor Hazrat Bilal was suspended.

No one can impose restriction on the students not to walk or sit together, we  have seen everywhere in the coeducation system that girls and boys work in a group to acquire education, Vice chancellor added.

After Rah-e-Rast military operation the inhabitants of Swat leave the area and the government had announced the formation of a University of Swat on 29 May 2010 which came into being on 7 July 2010.

At least there are 18 departments in the University of Swat while 2000 students are acquiring education in this University.
