40 Chotu Gang bandits surrender before Army

RAJANPUR: As many as forty bandits of Chotu Gang have surrendered, hours after Pakistan Army troops took lead in the Zarb-e- Ahan, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

According to information available to TheNewsTribe.com, as many as forty dacoits of Chotu Gang in Kacha area of Rajanpur laid arms before Pakistan Army on Friday afternoon.

The development was made when Punjab government called in 500 Army troops to take lead in the operation against Chotu Gang.

Government was compelled to call in Army when police failed to overcome bandits’ group after 18-day long battle, losing their six men while 18 policemen were also held hostage.

The gang members said that they never wanted to fight against Pakistan Army. Forces entered the area through helicopters and land penetration. Curfew has also been imposed in 4 kilometer area. Soldiers have also been assisted with gun-ship helicopters.
