LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Sheharyar Khan has stated that Sarfaz Ahmed is a very strong candidate for captaincy at the moment. He said PCB would reveal the final name next week.
Chairman PCB also praised Shahid Afridi for taking the responsibility of Pakistan’s defeat during the World T20 Cup. He said he did not blame anyone his report neither the management nor the players.

He said that Afridi has showed the grace of a great player and PCB appreciates his decision of leaving cricket team captaincy. He said that we are considering options for Captain and since Sarfaraz is the vice captain he is strong for next Captain.
He said that PCB would not only reveal the name of the Captain but several other changes regarding Coach, Manger and other officials hopefully in a week.
