WT20 2016: Pak vs NZ time, venue expected lineup & live stream

MOHALI: Pakistan and New Zealand will lock horn in a crucial Group-2 Super-10 round game of ICC WT20 2016 atĀ at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh.

New Zealand, who have raised above their ‘ Black Horse‘ labelĀ since World Cup 2105, are now hot favourite for the semi-final of this tournament.

They have beaten two world’s best sides in AsianĀ conditions, one of them was an Asian side, India who are considered unbeatable in their own backyard.

Pakistan in contrast are totally shattered after their huge defeat against India. Though, they are still second in the group-2, but reports from their camp are not very satisfactory.

The team needs to be gelled and regrouped before their important game against mighty Kiwis.

Reports from Pakistan camp suggest that left arm pacer Wahab Riaz and right arm top order batsman Mohammad Hafeez have suffered injuries ahead of their must-win game against New Zealand.

Wahab was struck on the left temporal region above the ear by a throw during a practice session on Monday. He was taken to a hospital for a precautionary CT scan and a neurologistā€™s assessment declared the bowler ā€˜normalā€™.

Hafeezā€™s injury came to light in Kolkata a couple of days ago, according to Saleem.

ā€œThe senior batsman complained of pain in the right knee a couple of days ago. He was administered physio treatment several times but the pain didnā€™t subside. On examination he was suspected to be having a strain of one of ligament in his right knee.

ā€œHe was sent for an MRI immediately after arrival in Mohali from Kolkatta. The MRI report received today revealed bone contusion/edema in the inter-condylar region of the femur. There was also minimal amount of fluid in the knee joint.

ā€œHe would be further inspected on Tuesday, but it is likely that he would not be able to take part in the match against Black Caps.ā€

Pakistan will assess the fitness of both Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Hafeez on Tuesday afternoon before a crucial Super 10 match against New Zealand in Mohali, although it is likely Hafeez could miss the game.

Talented batsman Khalid LAtif might make way in the side to replace Hafeez, while Wahab Riaz would too be replaced by all-rounder Imad Wasim.

It is also reported that if Hafeez gets a node from doctor and trainer ahead of the game, then Sharjeel Khan might give his place to Khalid Latif.
