KOLAKTA: Courtesy to Kohli’s heroic, India have beaten Pakistan in a low scoring game of Super-10 round(Group-2) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Indian skipper MS Dhoni elected to bowl first on an uncertain surface.

Spin attack of India kept Pakistan batsmen tied down and did not allow them to play free on a square-turner track.

With Ashwin 12-1  (in 3 overs) and Jadeja 20-1 in in his 4, India restricted Pakistan to 118/5.

Ahmed Shehzad 26 off 28 and Shoaib Malik (22 off 16) were prominent batsmen from Pakistan.

India were off to a confident start, but lost their 3 wickets in a quick succession. Sami had provided the breakthrough that Pakistan wanted to defend 119.

But, Kohli (55*)once showed his class once again and played gem of a knock to knock Pakistan out of the game.
