Amir injured, likely to be rested for early Asia Cup matches

LAHORE: Pakistan’s left arm quick Mohammad Amir, who made a promising comeback in national side after being out for more than 5 years due to spot-fixing scandal, has been reportedly injured during his last match in  Pakistan Super League.

According to local media reports, Amir had been inconsistent from Karachi Kings during PSL and was in and out of the final 11 in several matches.

Though, he played the second playoff against Islamabad United, but did not complete his spell and was seen warming the bench for most part of ISLU inning.

Reports suggesting that he has fitness issues and may also be rested for early Asia Cup matches, as selectors want him to be fit and in rhythm before World Twenty20 (wT20).

However, team management has not yet issued any statement regarding the issue.
