DUBAI: The star players of Quetta Gladiators, Ahmed Shehzad and Kevin Pietersen were on Friday fined for raising objection over umpire’s decision during first playoff match in Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Dubai.
The Gladiators clinched the match by one run, making it to final in a nail-biting game against Peshawar Zalmi played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Gladiators posted a 134-run target for Peshawar Zalmi with dazzling performance of Pietersen who smashed 53 runs.
The winning team’s players on the one hand expressed ecstasy over match triumph but on the other hand, stunning cricketers Ahmed Shehzad with 20 percent and Kevin Pietersen with 10 percent of match fee were fined over objecting umpire’s decision.
The team also faced another penalty of submitting 10 percent of the total match payment for slow run rate.
