Shehzad, Wright ace Quetta Gladiators’ 148 chase

DUBAI: Quetta Gladiators opening batsmen Ahmed Shehzad and Luke Wright dismantle Karachi Kings while chasing 148 runs in fourth encounter of Pakistan Super League.

Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfraz Ahmed sent Karachi Kings to bat first, Kings upper and middle order failed capitalise on it and lose back to back wickets.

Gladiators bowlers kept it tight for Kings unless skipper Malik came to the crease, he along with allrounder Ravi Bopara a 69 runs partnership to post 147-7 on the board in first 20 overs.

Zulfiqar Babar bowled a superb wicketless spell of 4-1-18-0 while nawaz was once again shining in the sun light of Dubai with 19-1 in his four.

Gladiators in reply were well on target. Luke Wright and Ahmed Shehzad made it look one-sided affair as they heaped a 92-run partnership together in 11 overs.

 wright was the man well-caught by Noman Anwar on the boundary right after he hit a mighty blow to Shoaib Malik, he scored 47 of 39 before leaving the crease.

Pietersen (29) was next to join the party along with Shehzad, his presence seemed to add into Pakistan opener’s confidence as he began to take charge on Kings bowlers and smashed them all over the ground.

Shehzad was the difference between both sides, he scored 71 of 46 balls as Gladiators won their second in a row of the mega tournament.
