IPL spot fixing scandal: Ajit Chandila gets life ban

NEW DELHI: The Board of Control in Cricket (BCCI’s) Disciplinary Committee, headed by president Shashank Manohar on Monday has slammed tainted cricketer Ajit Chandila with life ban, while Hiken Shah has been banned for five years in the 2013 in Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal.

Earlier, Chandila and Shah had appeared in person before the Committee on December 24, 2015 and were given time till January 4 to file a written response to the charges against them. The Committee, then, also decided to issue a notice to Rauf to respond to the charges against him.

Earlier, the players were granted bail due to lack of evidence after the Delhi Police arrested them in May 2013.
