Death toll in Thar rises to 17 in a week

MITHI: One more child on Thursday has died in Civil Hospital Mithi, Capital of Tharparkar, after an outbreak of water borne and Food shortage diseases which has claimed the lives of at least 17 children in the last one week.

A child died today in Mithi’s civil hospital rising the death toll of children to 17 in last 7 days, Also, three children have been transferred to Hyderabad in very critical condition.

Innocent children of Thar paying the price of the negligence of government authorities with their lives in the desert region of Sindh. Malnutrition, lack of healthcare facilities and scarcity of water are some factors pushing the children towards death.

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto has constituted a committee comprises of information adviser Moula Bux Chandio and food minister Nasir Shah to look into the situation in Thar.
