Mohammad Amir likely to be recalled for New Zealand tour

LAHORE: After being included in Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft list, talented fast bowler Muhammad Amir is all set to join Pakistan cricket team for New Zealand tour to mark his return to international cricket after serving five-year ban for his involvement in match fixing.

Amir recently played Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Pakistan’s leading first class Quaid-e-Azam trophy to prove his performance and fitness.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials the selection committee has allowed Muhammad Amir to join a training camp that is scheduled to begin from December 20. However PCB chairman Shahryar Khan will give words on Muhammad Amir’s return, DailyPakistan reported

“PCB has decided to invite 30 players to join training camp at Lahore’s National Cricket Academy (NCA) including youngsters Sharjeel Khan and Roman Raees, and pacer Muhammad Amir.”

The selection committee still has to announce a squad for New Zealand tour which will start from January 15. The teams will play three ODI and three T20 games just ahead of beginning of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

If Muhammad Amir joins PCB’s training camp and proves his fitness and positive attitude towards other fellow cricketers there are strong chances of his inclusion in squad for New Zealand tour.
