Abu-Bakr-al-Baghdadi

BAGHDAD: Iraqi Air Force has claimed that it has hit a convoy carrying Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the head of the Islamic State (ISIS), a terrorist organization.

According to a statement from Iranian media “the Iraqi air force carried out a heroic operation targeting the convoy of the criminal terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi” as he made his way to a meeting in the town of Karablah, in Iraq’s western Anbar province.

Iranian news agency IRNA claimed, Al-Baghdadi was “injured” in the airstrike, while three of his deputies were killed.

Iraqi Defence Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Rasool has said that the military is still investigating whether al-Baghdadi was in the convoy that was hit.

The military gave no information about the fate of the terrorist leader.
