LAHORE: Tension between supporters of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has risen as Election tribunal is to announce its verdict over National Assembly-122 rigging case, constituency of Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
According to media reports, tribunal member Kazim Ali Malik had finalized his judgment of this case after National Speaker’s panel concluded their remarks against petition filed by PTI chief in Lahore High Court.
There will be strict security measurements outside the site of Punjab Election Commission office. No off the subject person will be allowed to enter the premises of building.
Election tribune has issued five five passes to each side’s advisory body to hear the judgment.
Abdul Aleem Khan, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Shoaib Siddiqi, Khurram Qureshi and Advocate Anees Hashmi will appear from the PTI side, while speaker’s son Ali Ayaz, retired Col Mubashar, Muhammad Abid, Advocate Khwaja Saeeduz Zafar and Barrister Asjad Saeed from the PML-N side.
It should be kept in mind that this rigging case in NA-122 remained suspended for almost an year.The Lahore High Court granted a stay to Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on November 4, 2013 but recalled the stay on November 20, 2014 and allowed the tribunal to proceed with case.
PTI chief visited the tribunal twice, once for recording its statement against tribunal and 2nd time to ask tribunal to hear this particular case separately and do not amalgamate it results with PP-147. Whereas Speaker visited once to record its statement.
