NEW DELHI: Senior Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Shah who reached Delhi to meet Pakistan’s National Security Adviser Sartaj Aziz has been arrested by Delhi police, TheNewsTribe.com learnt from Indian media.
According to Indian media, Shabbir Shah was termed a ‘security risk’ and was arrested as he reached Delhi to meet sartaj.
The Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi had invited the Hurriyat leaders to meet Sartaj Aziz during a reception party being hosted by the High Commission in the honour of Sartaj Aziz.
Meanwhile, the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Geelani, continues to remain under house arrest in Srinagar. The authorities have strengthened the deployment around his residence.
Indian police have also detained other Kashmiri leaders including Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Syed Bashir Andrabi and Mir Hafeezullah.
