Son of Muammar Gaddafi, Saif ul Islam sentenced to death over war crimes

TRIPOLI : Libyan court on Tuesday has sentenced Muammar Gaddafi’s son, Said ul Islam to death over war crimes.

They were on trial along with dozens of other close associates of the deposed leader, accused of suppressing protests during the uprising.

Libyan court sentenced Saif ul Islam and eight other to death over war crimes linked to the 2011 revolution.

Saif ul Islam was not present at court when death sentence given by the Libyan court. They were under trial along with other close associates of Muammar Gaddafi.

Saif ul Islam was awarded by PHD degree from London.
