Lebanese Army claims Israeli drone crashes into sea

BEIRUT, LEBANON – An Israeli drone crashed in the northern Lebanese port city of Tripoli on Saturday, the Lebanon military claimed.

This drone crash marked the second such incident in three weeks.

On June 21, Israel carried out an air strike in eastern Lebanon to destroy one of its drones that had crashed in the mountains outside the village of Saghbine.

Israeli warplanes and drones regularly enter Lebanese airspace.

Israel fought a bloody war with Lebanon’s Shiite militia Hezbollah in 2006 that killed more than 1,200 people in Lebanon, mostly civilians, and some 160 Israelis, most of them soldiers.
