No more targeted operation in Sindh

KARACHI – Sindh Rangers stopped targeted operation in Sindh including Karachi as special powers of Rangers granted by government will expire on Wednesday night.

According to directions given to Rangers personnel, they will not conduct any raid in Karachi and contingents of Rangers deployed in Karachi have been called back.

Before the expiry of special powers, Sindh Rangers on issued report on Karachi Targeted operation started on September 5, 2014.

According to report, 334 target killers and 296 extortionists were arrested during Karacahi targeted operation. The report revealed that 5795 raids made carried out and 1035 criminals were arrested.

According to report 826 terrorists were arrested during raids made by Sindh Rangers. Report showed that 82 kidnappers were arrested and 49 abductees were recovered during operation.

During operation 7312 weapons recovered from criminals.

Earlier, Sindh government sent requisition for extension of Rangers powers to Federal Interior Ministry without any conditions, on Wednesday.

Regarding the Rangers operation in Karachi,Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Wednesday, cleared the stance of federal government during his press conference in Islamabad.

Federal Minister said that requisition for Rangers will be received from Sindh government before expiry. 

He said that Rangers is not a political force its a paramilitary force Rangers playing an important role  to restore peace in Karachi. Rangers has no political affiliation and tilt.

“I discussed rangers operation with CM Sindh twice,” he added.

While addressing news conference, he said that Rangers rendered immense sacrifices to restore peace in Karachi. Political parties busy in criticizing Rangers and these political parties harmed their image.
