Captain Sher Khan remembered on his 16th death anniversary

ISLAMABAD  – One of the bravest soldier of Pakistan, Captain Colonol Sher Khan is being remembered on 16th death anniversary, on Sunday.  

Captain Sher Khan was born in a small village of Swabi District, Nawankilli on January 1, 1970. He joined Pakistan Army on October 14, 1994.

He set the new example of bravery and courage during the Kargil conflict on the line of control. Sher Khan died in 1999 during Kargil conflict. Sher Khan’s first posting was at Okara in 27th Sindh Ragiment.

He also served Pakistan at Line of Control, Kashmir in January 1998. Colonol Sher Khan was known as “Shera” in his circle because of his bravery.

The great soldier of Pakistan, embraced martyrdom during Kargil conflict in 1999. He received highest Pakistani military award, ‘Nishan-e-Haider for his bravery and became a first soldier from Khyber Pakhtukhwa (NWFP on that time) to be awarded with ‘Nishan-e-Haider.”

Even his enemy praised and pay tribute to Sher Khan beacause of his courage and bravery. Indian news paper quoted Indian military officer, he said that  “Captain Sher won the respect of Indian officers defending the Tiger Hills feature and the adjoining hills, with his courage and brilliant attack.

Indian army officer also claimed that, Pakistan army awarded Sher Khan “Nishan-e-Haider on the recommendation of Indian army.

Sher Khan’s brother said that “No enemy is a coward. I won’t call India coward because it proclaimed Sher Khan as a hero.”
