Islamabad: In response to extremely hot weather and killings of hundreds of people in Karachi, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to establish Heat Stroke Centers across Sindh particularly in Karachi.
NDMA will set up these relief centers all over the Sindh and Karachi particularly with the assistance of provincial health department of Sindh and Provincial Disaster Management Authority.
Doctors, paramedical personnels and other medical provisions will be provided to the people suffering heat stroke.
Yesterday, Pakistan Rangers have also established Heat Stroke Relief Centers in ten areas of Karachi.
The Sindh Rangers have asked people of Karachi who want to have help, to reach the nearest heat stroke relief centers.
The Heat Stroke Centers are established at Rangers Training Centre and College, Toll Plaza, Block A, North Nazimabad, Baldia Town, People’s Football Stadium, Mauripur Road, SITE Stadium, Kala Pull, Jamia Milia Malir, Muzaffarabad Colony, Karachi University and North Karachi.
Karachi has been under unbearable heat wave these days, as more than 140 people lost their lives due to heat surge in Karachi.
According to sources, during the last 24 hours some 1500 people were hospitalized in different hospitals in Karachi in the wake of heat wave from sun, and reportedly 266 have died during last 24 hours.
According to credible data taken from hospitals in Karachi, some 58 people have been died since morning this day.
