Ramadan moon not sighted in Pakistan

Karachi: Muslims in Pakistan will begin fasting on Friday as Ramadan moon has not been sighted in the country, confirmed Pakistan moon sighting committee chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman in an official announcement.

The chairman said that the weather was cloudy in mostly parts of Pakistan but evidences acquired were not attained.

“The clerics after failing to receive any the evidence of moon sighting decided to announce the first fasting of Ramadan Friday,” the chairman said.

The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (moon sighting committee) met under his chairman in Karachi for the sighting of Ramadan crescent and collecting evidences of moon sighting.

Zonal Ruet Hilal Committees also met in their respective areas for moon sighting.
