Pakistan to observe 1st Ramadan on Friday

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Meteorological Department said that there are a few chances of moon sighting in the country so it is expected the first day of Ramadan will be observed on Friday. 

Roet e Hilal Committee’s meeting is still going on in Karachi for moon sighting but committee doesn’t receive any evidence yet.

Provincial moon sighting committees are also busy in sighting the moon in different cities across the country.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has announced that Thursday, June 18 will be the first day of Muslim holy month Ramadan.

The first day of Ramadan is expected to be observed on June 18 in Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and Turkey.

More than one billion Muslims around the world will observe fast in holy month of Ramadan from June 18 for the next 29 or 30 days as Ramadan is considered third pillar of Islam.
