PESHAWAR: Three of the opposition parties of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), has decided Sunday to stage a protest against the provincial government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, over ‘rigging’ in the May 30 local government elections.
The opposition parties alliance comprised of Awami National Party (ANP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

The alliance president, Mian Iftkhar Hussain, said that on June 10 a shutter-down protest would be held throughout the province in order to put pressure over PTI led Provincial government to resign.

He said that the entire rigging plan in local government elections was drawn by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the CM was responsible for the malpractices and irregularities.

It is pertinent to mention that Mian Iftikhar Hussain was arrested by police in murder case on May 30 which fueled the anger in the political spectrum of Pakistan claiming it a malicious move on part of KPK government.
