ISLAMABAD – Custom Intelligence of Pakistan has recovered 2000% more smuggled goods during the last ten months, report issued on Friday.
High level meeting of countrywide officials of Custom Intelligence held in the leadership of Director General of custom Intelligence and Investigation, Lutf Ullah Virk, which analyzed the working of Custom Intelligence during year 2014-2015.
While giving briefing in the meeting Additional Director, Muhammad Asif, told that custom intelligence have improved its working and during the last ten months it has recovered 2000% more smuggled good as compared to previous same duration.
He said that during the year 2015, in the month of May and June custom Intelligence has spread its wings and accelerate its activities to capture more culprits and smuggled goods.
It is also decided in the meeting that if any smuggled goods crossed one Directorate and got captured in other area than legal action would be taken against the one on whom Directorate goods have been crossed.
Lutf Ullah Virk also said that auction of all the recovered goods would be completed by June 30, 2015 in full transparency so that national exchequer would be benefit from the amount.
