BEIJING – Solar Impulse which is on the world tour has reached to Nanjing, China.
The Solar Impulse plane which uses solar radiations as a fuel for it and petroleum is not required to support its flight.
The Plane has reached to the Eastern city of China Nanjing From The Western City Chongqing after covering some 1200km distance.
This project is based on the purpose to fly on the whole world using this solar supported plane, Solar Impulse.
The Project is privately-financed by Swiss businessman André Borschberg and Swiss psychiatrist and aeronaut Bertrand Piccard, who co-piloted the first balloon to circle the world non-stop
After this challenge of covering more and more distance, the next challenge for the plane to cross the Pacific Ocean.
Solar Impulse has already set two world records for manned solar-powered flight on its journey by now.
The first was for the longest distance covered on a single trip – that of 1,468km between Muscat, Oman, and Ahmedabad, India.
The second was for a groundspeed of 117 knots (216km/h; 135mph), which was achieved during the leg into Mandalay, Myanmar, from Varanasi, India.
