Dozen dead in Bangladesh bus crash

DHAKA: As many as 24 people were dead while 22 people sustained injuries when a passenger bus hit trees and plunged into a ditch in southwestern Bangladesh.

According to reports, the accident took place early Thursday in the Bhanga area of Faridpur district when the bus was travelling from Dhaka to the southern district of Barisal.

Rescue teams rushed the spot and shifted the injured and the bodies to nearby hospitals.

The cause of the accident wasn’t clear yet but passengers said the driver apparently lost control. It was not known yet if the driver was among the dead.
