West Indies thrash UAE by six wickets, likely to qualify for knock outs

NAPIER: West Indies have beaten United Arab Emirates (UAE) by six wickets in a must win game of the tournament at McLean Park.

Johnson Charles and Jonathan Carter scored half centuries to guide West Indies to a comfortable chase.

West Indies outshined UAE in all departments of the game as they restricted UAE to 175 and later they chased easily on loss of six wickets in 30.3 overs in  order to get spot in top four of pool B.

Charles scored 55 while Carter made unbeaten 50 for the West Indian side.

Amjad Javed and Manjula Guruge took two wickets each for UAE.

Earlier, Javed and Nasir Aziz scored half centuries to post 175 runs total against West Indies. Javed made 56 while Nasir scored 60.

West Indies skipper Jason Holder picked up four wickets in the  match.
