NEW YORK: Pilot John Sundahl, 44, was shot down by Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan’s Kabul while flying a helicopter as a private contractor ferrying officials across the war-worn country.
John Sundahl dated Britney Spears in 2007, who also helped the pop singer quitting drinking problems, was killed by the Taliban insurgents in Kabul by shooting down his helicopter leaving Britney Spears ‘devastated’, British media reported.
A close source to Britney Spears revealed that the pop singer was devastated after the development as she thought John Sundahl was a lovely man.
John Sundahl’s body was taken back to US last week and funeral was held at a Buddhist temple in Chinatown, Los Angeles and he has been buried at a private location.
According to reports, Britney Spears had met Sundahl at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Los Angeles whom she credited for quitting booze.
The pair was once rumoured to get engaged, however, Britney’s representative rejected the rumours and said that the duo remained friends after their romance but were said to have reignited their relationship last summer.
