LAHORE: Banned Pakistani off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has restarted practice in National Cricket Academy (NCA) from Wednesday.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board sources, Ajmal has joined National Cricket Academy and started practice under the supervision of NCA coaches and founder of Doosra Saqlain Mustaq.
Ajmal was banned from bowling during Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka last year.
Saqlain is considered as one of the best spinners in the cricket history while Ajmal is the current best spinner in the international cricket.
Former spinner Saqlain Mushtaq has been given the task to rectify Ajmal’s action.
Saqlain will be reviewing and rectifying the action at the academy.
Pakistan’s team has been facing a lack of quality bowling since the International Cricket Council has barred Ajmal from bowling. The lacking is especially visible as World Cup is about a month away.
A few days back, Ajmal voluntarily withdrew his name from the possible team of Pakistan for WC 2015.
He has been leading bowlers in the international cricket for last many years in all cricket formats for the Green Shirts.
