Qadri says weak laws strengthened terror

NEW YORK: Advocating a “stitch in time saves nine” Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Allama Tahirul Qadri Tuesday said that had the terrorists not been able to find a way out of the loopholes the law of the land is riddled with, the situation would not have worsened to this measure.

“The terrorists were in fact sheltered by the weak laws. So it is imperative for Pakistan to leave none of the lacunas unplugged in the justice system,” the reformist cleric said while talking to his party workers in Pakistan from US via video-link.

Saying that the constitution neither allows slaughtering the innocent nor plundering the national wealth, Qadri said that those who had agreed to military courts were now creating a political scene out of the issue.
