Military courts establishment not an ideal system: Sirajul Haq

PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer and head of the political Jirga, Sirajul Haq on Thursday said that constitution of military courts is not an ideal system.

He said that all the parties have taken such decision to bring the situation to normalcy, saying that the entire process will be in the light of constitution and it will last for two years.

Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and National Party have assured full support to the government in the elimination of terrorism. JI Ameer, Sirajul Haq said despite reservations there was no other option besides the formation of military courts.

The JI chief along with PPP leader Rehman Malik and National Party (NP) leader Hazil Bizenjo visited the Army Public School here on Thursday.

Talking to the media, Sirajul Haq said that permanent solution is to improve the prevailing system of the country.

He said that joint objective in All Parties Conference (APC) held on Wednesday, was to establish peace in the country.

He said that the result of the sacrifices of the innocent children will be in the terms of peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.

The JI chief said the march against terrorists had begun with the announcement of the unanimous action plan.

PPP leader Rehman Malik said the jirga was ready to talk to those militants who were willing to disarm. He emphasized that the terrorists involved in the Peshawar massacre did not deserve to be forgiven.

The former interior minister also called on the government to award the Nishan-e-Haider to martyred students.

Sirajul Haq said the joint action plan will help in the restoration of peace in the country as all the political parties have been taken into confidence in this regard.

He said they should make collective efforts to make Pakistan a peaceful and welfare state according to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Sirajul Haq expressed hope that the next year will be year of peace in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP leader Rehman Malik said the nation is united to smash terrorists.He said the terrorist attack on a school in Peshawar has united the nation.

He said the inhuman terrorists are the enemies of Islam and Pakistan. Sirajul Haq said that national leadership got united against terrorism and the nation would witness a beginning of good era.

Rehman Malik said that Zaliman (Taliban) don’t have any answer to explain why children were killed in Peshawar.The members of political Jirga visited Army Public School in Peshawar.

Sirajul Haq lauded the sacrifices of Peshawar and stated that establishing of military courts for limited time was a decision of government.

Rehman Malik condemned the Peshawar carnage and expressed that it was an attack on whole nation whereas children have made them united by sacrificing their lives. He further added that they are ready to negotiate if Zaliman (Taliban) lay down their arms.

Rehman Malik hailed the government decision to establish special courts where terrorists will be put on trial. He lauded the sacrifices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the war against terror.

Rehman Malik asked the Afghan government to extradite terrorist leader Fazlullah and his associates to Pakistan. He demanded the stoppage of US drone attacks in Pakistan.

President National Party Mir Hasil Khan Bazenjo who was also present on the occasion expressed solidarity with the people of Peshawar and parents of the martyred students. He said it was now time to fight all types of terrorists.

He said this is their collective responsibility to fight against the terrorists without any clemency.

He demanded the Army Public School should be converted into a university and named as Martyred Students University.

Earlier, they were briefed about the terrorist attack on the school.
