Afridi’s last desire before retiring from ODI format

KARACHI: All rounder Shahid Afridi has said that he wanted to achieve the 400-wicket mark and 8000 runs in One Day Internationals before retiring.

He stunned everyone on Sunday by announcing his decision to retire after World Cup 2015.

He said that he wanted to complete 400 wickets as well as 8000 runs in ODI format.

Afridi has so far played 389 matches in which he has scored 7870 runs at an average of  23.46. He has taken 391 wickets as well.

The star allrounder said that he would continue his career by playing Twenty20 matches for Green-shirts.

Shahid Afridi has made retirement announcements before. He announced retirement from Test cricket in 2006, but chose to play once again when he was made captain for the summer tour of England in 2010. In an astonishing decision, he again announced retirement from Test cricket after captaining only the first Test against Australia.
